Long live life science.
It is with great sadness, but also with great respect, that we say goodbye to my father, who passed away on March 16, 2026.
In the 1980s, he laid the foundations of Carfil Quality. At a time when life sciences had not yet taken the place they hold today, he already saw their potential. He was a pioneer — someone who looked ahead, recognized opportunities before others did, and had the courage to build on them.
In those early years, he already worked with leading partners such as Janssen Pharmaceutica, Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, and KU Leuven Research & Development.
He believed then, as we still do today, that life sciences deserve their place even as the field has evolved tremendously over the years.
His vision and determination did not just create a company, but a story that still holds its place today.
To many, he was an entrepreneur.
To me, he was a father, a mentor, and a source of inspiration.
Thank you, dad.
Long live life science.
