Carfil Quality supports the life science sector

Supporting COVID-19 projects

As a total supplier in Life Science, we made an appeal to our customers during this COVID-19 pandemic whether we could provide support with COVID-19 research.

We are proud to announce that we have helped 2 of our clients, the FARAH research center of the University of Liège (ULG - FARAH) and the German virological institute in Berlin, with their projects by donating diets, bedding and cage enrichment.

Testimonials from our customers:

ULG-FARAH:
CARFIL is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. In this context, Mr Philippe Huybrechts wanted to support the COVID-19 activities carried out at the FARAH Research Center of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at ULiège. By providing free food and bedding for our in vivo research activities, CARFIL is thus participating in the collective societal effort to combat SARS-CoV2. The Pathology Department of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and all these members would like to thank them warmly.

German virological institute in Berlin:
We are currently constructing codon-pair deoptimized viruses as vaccine candidates. Condon-pair deoptimization is a strategy to attenuate viruses for their use as live vaccines, it has successfully been used in a number of viruses in the past, including RNA viruses such as polio and influenza. After thorough characterization of candidate viruses in cell culture, their suitability as vaccines will first be tested in hamsters.
